The using history of zinc oxide

Early humans learned to use it as a paint or zinc oxide topical medicine, but the history of mankind discovered zinc oxide has been difficult to trace.

In ancient Indian medicine book "Chakra The collection" describes a zinc oxide after being identified as a drug, used to treat eye diseases and injuries. 1st century AD Greek physician Dioscorides Clerides also mentioned to do with zinc oxide ointment.
