Sodium formate’s chemical formula is HCOONa.2H2O, slightly acid smell. Soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol. Melting point is 253 ℃, and toxic. A strong thermal decomposition into hydrogen and sodium oxalate. Mainly used as reagents for chemical analysis, the determination of arsenic and phosphorus, also used as a disinfectant, etc..
